Receive a transaction through SBI Remit

You must register as a member before using the SBI Remit online remittance service. To become a member, please make sure you meet below criteria:

  1. Resident of Japan, 18 years or older;
  2. Holder of identification (e.g. driver's license or Resident Card or My Number Card) issued in Japan, and able to show proof of such identification,
  3. Holder of an e-mail address and can access the Internet by computer or cell phone.

2. Receive the “Welcome Package”

The Welcome Package include user name and temporary login password, service induction and the SBI Remit Card.

To get started, you must register as a member with SBI Remit, click here or go to www.remit.co.jp to register.

3. How to receive money via SBI website

  1. Sender sends money at any MoneyGram agent location. 
  2. Sender provides receiver the 8 digits reference number. 
  3. Receiver logs in to the SBI Remit website or mobile site1, enter required information2 and the 8 digits reference number.
  4. The fund will be deposit in the recipient’s account on the next business day3. 4or only transaction that is completed before 3pm (Japan time).

     1 SBI Remit service is ONLY available for customers with a valid bank account in Japan.
2 Bank account information including name of bank, branch name, account type, account number and account holder’s name must be entered correctly.
3 Transaction fees apply for one single transaction.
4 Maximum sending limit per transaction is USD10,000, or 1,000,000 yen equivalent. There is no monthly limit for receive remittance, but SBI Remit may request further information in related to the transaction for safety purpose.

4. How to receive money at a location

  1. Sender provides receiver the 8 digits reference number.
  2. Sender must bring a photo valid ID1 to any of the below SBI Remit locations.
  3. Present your photo valid ID to a staff.
  4. After verification2, our friend staff will hand you the cash.
